How to write a CV & Resume?



Hi my dear friends
As I wished always I hope all you guys being interested in presented posts and not to be bored.
I allocated this post to CV and Resume.

When you surf in a website in case of catching piece of information about Malaysia's universities, you may faced with these two.

For M.A. or P.H.D. registration writing CV and resume is essential, but some friend do not know anything about these two differences.even these sites didn't mention any useful points to explain the differences.

I will show you the differences here and explain which would be suitable for you.
At the end of this post we will have some useful points in writing CVs and resume.

whats a resume:

Resume is different from CV.  "Resume " is an English word which mean detailed synopsis ( a summery of your experiences).

Use of Resume:

Resume would write by those are going to apply for a job, it does not relate to educational registration.

As you see details should be mentioned include summery of skills, experiences and your education.
Its length should be 1 page up to 2 pages.

Notice: 

Not to explain more that enough,  for example if you had two years experience as welder just write worked as welder for 2 years, nothing more.

The resume reader will spend a minute or so reviewing your qualification.

For those has complex experiences, they can enclose one more paper include their purpose of writing CV or any extra necessary information.this paper called "cover letter".

What is CV ?

CV does stand for two English words "Curriculum Vitae"
What does Curriculum Vitae mean?

Curriculum refer to any educational, skills, researches experiences, thesis and so on.
Vitae refer to experiences as Resume.
We will explain about usage of them :

What does CVs include?

Contact information,  education details as college and graduate study include attended, dates if study and degree received .honor and awards.thesis/dissertation,research experience,work experience, Teaching experience,skills, publications and presentations,  professional member ships,extracurricular activities and references.

As you see CVs are more complete than Resume and is essential for those want to register in Malaysia's universities.

Notice:

Try to write it as brief as possible, not mention memories, write it on two pages which is more pretty to be written in one page and its essential to register for an university.

Some useful tips for who do not know how to start writing CV :
Cvs writing process and its different parts:

CVs are different depended on your purposeorganza it neat, to attract the reader's attention.
Different parts: 

1.personal details:

Placed at the left side at the top of the first page,include your name,contact information (address,phone number,email address,passport number,etc.)out of the US,many CVs include even more personal information,such as gender (male /female),date of birth,marital status,and even name of children. since you are out of US these details should be mentioned.
Education(most important part)

This may include college and graduate study include the school attended date of study and degree received and mention all related addresses.

2.honor and awards:

Include dean's list studding,departmental awards,scholarships,fellowships,and membership in any honors associated.

3.Thesis/Dissertation:

Include your thesis or dissertation title.you can also mention the name of adviser.

4.Research experience:

List any research experiences you have,including you worked with whom, when.include any publications resulting from your research.

5.work experience:

List relevant work experience,this may include non-academic work that you feel does worth to be mentioned.list the employer,position,and date of employment.include a brief list of your duties or accomplishments.

6.teaching experience:

List any teaching positions you have held.include school, course you had,and semester,you may also include any tutoring or group leadership experience.

7.Skills:

list any relevant skills you have not yet mentioned.this may include language skills,computer skills, administrative skills,etc.

8.Publication and presentation:

List any publications you have written,co-written,or contributed to.include all necessary bibliographic information, you should also include any pieces you working on.papers you presented in conferences or associated. List the name of paper,the conferences name ,location and the date.

9.professional member ship:

List any professional association to which you belong.

10.Extracurricular activities:

Include any volunteer or service works you have done,as well as any clubs or organizations to which you have belonged. you can also include any study abroad experiences here if you have not already mentioned them.

11.Reference:

In this section you should mention the name, title, and contact information for those 8 people who have  agreed to be reference for you,if you do not to wish ti include their information, you can simply write"references available upon request".

Notice:

be aware that not all CVs look the same, yuu may choose ti include some of them.
I hope all you guys use these tips for better CVs.

Not to forget write them on A4 up to two pages and all information should be based,in case of accepting you should bring record of services.do not show thing bigger and try not to write lies,for example if you were an university teacher not to write your experience as a chairman.

Cvs should be typed in English.
